The dean of students at Second Chance Academy in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, has been arrested after authorities learned he had been having an inappropriate relationship with a student.
A video posted on social media by the teenage girl’s mother, Raynesha Cummings, shows 48-year-old Corey Nash admitting that he was soliciting sexual favors from Cummings teenage daughter.
Cummings said she was outraged when she discovered the text messages and explicit photos on her daughter’s cell phone involving Nash.
On Tuesday, June 13, Cummings went to the school to confront Nash about the messages and the more than $1,500 he sent her daughter. Cummings filmed the confrontation and uploaded it online. During the confrontation, Nash doesn’t deny the allegations but instead suggests that his conversation with Cummings daughter was a joke.
The communication Nash has been having with Cummings daughter started in April, according to Cummings. According to Cummings, Nash sent her daughter money for her to buy various things, including a video game.
Cummings said she filed a police report with Baton Rouge Police Department.
During the confrontation, Nash said he never touched Cummings daughter while admitting he was wrong and said he took a “joke too far.”
Cummings also said that her daughter was wrong, but Nash was the adult, and he knew better.
I sent some irresponsible text messages to her. I was out of order and I was wrong, but I never touched her,  Nash can be heard saying in the video. That’s my fault and that’s me owning up to that. Man I was wrong, that’s me. I was taking a joke too far.

On Friday, June 16, Nash was arrested on other sexual misconduct charges involving children.
Baton Rouge Police said that in May of 2023, a 29-year-old woman who attended Second Chance Academy when she was 14 told them that Nash abused her for two years. According to arrest warrants, Nash would slap the victim’s butt as she walked by, and he would say, ‘Just playing.’ The woman told police that Nash would gift her and buy her food so he could see her breast.
The arrest warrants said Nash and the victim performed oral sex on one another and once had vaginal sex. The victim told police that she and Nash had sex multiple times at Second Chance Academy.
Baton Rouge said because the victim came forward, Nash was arrested.
Cour records also show that in 1996, Nash was arrested by the Baton Rouge Police Department for the forcible rape of a 12-year-old student. At the time, a grand jury indicted Nash for sexual battery. He pleaded guilty to a lesser charge, simple batter, in 2012. Nash’s guilty plea to the lesser charge avoided his jail time, and he did not have to register as a sex offender. Nash’s sister, Brendia Ford, the founder of the privately-funded school, allowed Nash to continue working there, despite his conviction and allegations.
Baton Rouge police said they are still investigating Nash for the incident involving Cummings daughter.
