An Asheboro, North Carolina woman was shocked to find an unfamiliar man asleep in the backseat of her vehicle during her morning commute. The bizarre incident took place when the woman noticed a strange odor inside her car. Concerned, she checked her rearview mirror and was alarmed to see a man lying in the backseat.
According to Asheboro Police Department, the woman quickly reacted, pulling over near the intersection of South Church Street and Foust Street. Once she was safely outside her vehicle, she immediately called 911 to report the intruder. The man woke up, saw the woman and fled the scene on foot.
Local authorities, including the Asheboro Police Department, are urging residents to be vigilant and always lock their vehicles, particularly at night, to prevent similar incidents. The man’s identity remains unknown, and the investigation is ongoing.
