A 21-year-old Charlotte woman is behind bars after police say she intentionally burned a 4-year-old child—not once, but five times—with the end of a cigarette while babysitting.

The woman, Armani Espino, who lives on Doby Springs Drive, was arrested Wednesday, July 9, and charged with felony child abuse inflicting serious injury. According to arrest warrants obtained by The North Carolina Beat, Espino was babysitting her boyfriend’s 4-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter when she allegedly turned into a real-life monster.
Detectives say Espino burned the little boy’s leg five separate times with a lit cigarette.
Espino is currently sittin’ miserable in the Mecklenburg County Jail, where she’s being held on a $5,000 secured bond. And honestly? That bond lowkey too low for what she allegedly did.
