Archana Singh, 40, of Apex, who worked at Children’s Lighthouse of Holly Springs on Avent Ferry Road, now faces a child abuse charge after Holly Springs police say she grabbed a toddler by the arm, jerked him backward, dragged him 5 to 10 feet across the playground, and caused him to smash his head on the ground.
According to the arrest warrant, the disturbing incident happened on April 21, 2026, while Singh was supervising children outdoors. Court documents claim Singh suddenly grabbed the boy’s arm, yanked him so hard he spun around, then continued pulling him across the surface before letting go — sending the child tumbling backward and hitting his head.
Holly Springs police arrested Singh following the investigation. She voluntarily surrendered to authorities on May 4 with her husband and attorney present. She was released on a $1,500 unsecured bond and is scheduled to appear in Wake County court on June 10, 2026.
