THE SHOOTING
According to police reports and video footage, the 36-year-old ex-Pro Bowler was allegedly seen in a fistfight with Zul-Qarnain Kwame Nantambu, a man he’s reportedly known since 2022, according to wusf.org. Witnesses and surveillance footage show Brown allegedly wrestling a handgun away from a security guard, chasing Nantambu, and firing two shots—with one bullet grazing the victim’s neck.
At the scene, law enforcement recovered two shell casings and an empty holster, but Brown was reportedly not in possession of the firearm when initially questioned by police.
WANTED FOR ATTEMPTED MURDER
The warrant, signed on June 11, charges Antonio Brown with first-degree attempted murder—a felony punishable by life in prison under Florida law. His bond is set at $10,000, and if arrested, he would be placed under house arrest until trial.

BROWN’S SIDE OF THE STORY
Brown claims he was “jumped and robbed” that night and says he blacked out due to possible CTE (chronic traumatic encephalopathy), a condition that has long plagued former NFL players. He was briefly detained but released after giving his statement.
A HISTORY OF TROUBLE
Antonio Brown’s post-NFL career has been marred by chaos. From domestic violence accusations and child support disputes to bankruptcy and public meltdowns, this latest charge marks yet another low in a spiraling saga.
Once one of the league’s most feared wide receivers—with over 12,000 career yards, 83 touchdowns, and a Super Bowl ring—Brown’s career infamously ended when he stripped mid-game and walked off the field during a Bucs game in 2021.
