Afeni Muhammad, 26, is now sitting behind bars on a $25 million bond after being indicted for first-degree premeditated murder and possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to harm—all stemming from the cold-blooded stabbing death of her manager, Jennifer “Jamma” Harris, inside a McDonald’s.

According to the Macomb County Prosecutor’s Office, Muhammad got into it with 39-year-old Harris during her shift on July 10 and was told to clock out and go home. But, she didn’t take that lightly. Reports say Afeni Muhammad came back wearing a hoodie and mask, snuck in through the back, and stabbed Jamma up to 15 times with a kitchen knife longer than three inches.

Armed Customer Stepped In
A real-life good Samaritan in the drive-thru line, who happened to be legally strapped, heard the commotion, hopped out, and fired a shot to stop the attack. He then held Muhammad at gunpoint until police arrived.
Judge Kathleen Galen of the 38th District Court wasn’t playing when she hit Muhammad with that $25 MILLION cash/surety bond. She made it clear: Afeni is a danger to the public and a serious flight risk. If she even thinks about posting bond, it comes with tight conditions:
-
GPS ankle monitor
-
Daily check-ins
-
No leaving Michigan
-
No contact with the victim’s family

She’s also barred from the McDonald’s. Muhammad is also charged as a habitual offender (2nd offense). Her probable cause hearing is set for July 23, and her preliminary exam goes down July 30.

Who Was Jamma Harris?
Jamma was a devoted single mom of six, grinding at that McDonald’s for 15 years. Her family is devastated. They say she was the glue, the rock, and the love holding them together. Now, six babies are left without their mother.
Prosecutor Peter Lucido called the case a “heartbreaking tragedy.”
