Devian Blount Charged With First-Degree Murder After Shooting Friend Jaydon Williams in Hollywood Airbnb
According to Hollywood Police and the arrest affidavit, the shooting happened just after midnight on July 4, 2026, at a short-term rental on Funston Street in Hollywood, Florida. Williams, also 21, was on FaceTime with his girlfriend back in North Carolina when the argument turned deadly.
The Yacht Party Beef That Reportedly Started It All
The two friends who drove from North Carolina to Florida were part of a big group that rented the Airbnb for a wild Fourth of July getaway to South Florida, per Local 10.
Earlier that night, the crew hit a yacht party off Miami. That’s where things reportedly went left.
Williams’ girlfriend — still on the phone with him later — told police she heard Blount accuse her boyfriend of stealing something while they were partying on the boat. Williams allegedly brushed it off, saying, “Yo, chill, you’re drunk.”
Hours later, while the rest of the group headed to LIV Nightclub in Miami Beach, Blount and Williams stayed behind at the Airbnb. Witnesses said Blount had been “acting strangely” the whole trip.
Just after 12:52 a.m., shots rang out inside the rental home.
According to Miami Herald, police say Williams was lying face down on a bed when officers arrived after his girlfriend’s FaceTime call suddenly ended. He had been shot multiple times — in the left upper arm, elbow, and left side of the chest.
He was still alive when cops got there and told them he didn’t know who shot him.
Hollywood Fire Rescue rushed him to Memorial Regional Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 2:10 a.m.
After the shooting, Blount reportedly left the Airbnb.
Around 5:30 a.m., a bicyclist found a Glock 10mm on the sidewalk near South Federal Highway and Fletcher Street — the same type of gun a friend said Blount was known to carry.
Just after 7 a.m., Blount walked back up to the crime scene shirtless and shoeless, wearing only tan shorts. He approached officers and — without being asked — said his name was “Suave.”
He then asked, “Where everybody at?” and added, “We weren’t supposed to leave until tomorrow.”
Detectives immediately took him into custody.

Blount has been charged with first-degree murder with a firearm. Prosecutors say the shooting was premeditated.
He’s currently being held without bond at the Broward County Main Jail.
Hollywood Police homicide detectives are still working the case and want to hear from anyone who knows more about what happened on that yacht or inside the Airbnb.
