Dispute Turns To Gunfire At Triangle Town Center In Raleigh, 3 Shot

Triangle Town Center shooting in Raleigh after dispute between two groups left three injured

RALEIGH, N.C. – A dispute between two small groups near the express store at Triangle Town Center mall escalated into a shooting on Wednesday afternoon, April 8, 2026, leaving two men injured, according to Raleigh Police.

In a update just after 6 p.m., Raleigh Police announced that a third individual had been shot in connection with the incident. Their injuries also appear to be non-life-threatening.

It’s unclear if the third victim is a male or female.

Initial reports of an active shooter prompted a heavy law enforcement response around 3:30 p.m. Social media videos from inside the mall showed shoppers locked inside stores while officers urgently asked bystanders for information about the shooter’s direction. One person filming reported seeing blood on the floor and believed at least one person had been shot.

In a press conference Friday afternoon, a Raleigh Police Public Affairs officer provided new details, saying two small groups confronted each other, exchanged words, before things got physical and shots were fired.

All three victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said a handgun believed to be involved in the shooting was recovered at the scene. The suspects fled on foot following the incident.

In a statement prior to the press conference, Raleigh Police had stated there was no active shooter and the scene was secure.

As of the latest press conference, no suspect names, arrests, or charges related to the shooting itself have been publicly released.

The investigation remains ongoing.
