JACKSONVILLE, N.C. — The owner of 910 Coffee Co. spoke out recently after days of viral backlash, but instead of calming folks down, her Facebook activity is now adding even more fuel to the fire.

In a lengthy Facebook post, Summer Scozzari addressed the growing controversy surrounding the coffee shop, insisting the situation has gone “far beyond a cup of coffee.” She claimed there is “a lot more to this story” than what has been shared online and admitted that not everything was handled perfectly by her staff.

If you don’t remember, a local resident named Sakinah Szade took to Facebook and blasted the business over what she described as an ugly encounter inside the shop. In her post, Szade accused the manager, identified as Angel Flynn, of refusing to fix a drink, refusing to refund it, telling them to “get the f*** out,” and calling the police after they complained.
But while Summer was trying to present herself as the voice of reason, social media users quickly zeroed in on something else: a screenshot appearing to show her liking a comment that said, “It’s always them….”
According to the screenshot circulating online, the comment went on to criticize the customer, saying she ordered coffee with milk in it and then complained it was not black, while also accusing her of trying to get free items, money back, and even “reparations for people you never met.” Another screenshot appears to show Summer’s profile among the people who reacted to that comment.
While Summer’s statement framed her business and family as victims of harassment, locals online are asking why she would appear to endorse a comment with language many people are interpreting as racially coded.
In her public statement, Summer also claimed the situation has now escalated into harassment, alleging that people have driven by her home, taken photos of her mother’s house, threatened her employees, and shared personal information online, including addresses, vehicles, and LLC information. She said the backlash is no longer about coffee and called it “harassment.”
