RANDOLPH COUNTY, N.C. — A longtime Randolph County teacher is facing criminal charges after authorities say he allegedly stalked and cyberstalked a 16-year-old student using anonymous social media accounts.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Office, James Gregory Allen, 53, was arrested on January 2, 2026, and charged with misdemeanor stalking and misdemeanor cyberstalking in connection with a teenage student.
Allen was booked into the Randolph County Detention Center and later released on a $5,000 secured bond. He is now prohibited from having any contact with the alleged victim.
Who Is James Allen?
James Allen spent more than two decades working in the Randolph County School System.
School officials confirmed Allen taught at Archdale-Trinity Middle School from 2004 to 2013 and later taught at Trinity High School from 2013 until November 21, 2025.

His employment ended weeks before his arrest. The school district has declined to comment further, citing personnel confidentiality.
What Police Say Happened
Investigators allege Allen created an anonymous social media account that he used to monitor the student’s online activity, send private messages and repeatedly contact the teen without consent.
Authorities say the behavior caused the 16-year-old to feel afraid and unsafe. Court documents indicate the conduct occurred online, and there have been no public allegations of physical or sexual contact at this time.
