ICE Shooting in Minneapolis Kills Woman After Agent Fires Into Her Vehicle

ICE shooting in Minneapolis scene where woman was killed during federal operation

MINNEAPOLIS, MN — A 37-year-old woman identified as Renee Nicole Good, is dead after an ICE shooting in south Minneapolis Wednesday morning, where a federal immigration agent fired into her vehicle during a law enforcement operation.

The shooting happened around 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, near East 34th Street and Portland Avenue, an area flooded with federal agents as part of a large immigration enforcement action. The woman was sitting inside her vehicle when ICE agents surrounded it. Moments later, shots rang out.

She was rushed to a hospital but did not survive.

Woman Shot While Inside Her Vehicle During ICE Operation

According to federal officials, ICE agents were conducting a targeted operation when the woman’s vehicle became involved. ICE claims she used her car as a weapon and attempted to strike agents — a claim that has been flatly rejected by local leaders and questioned by the public.

The Department of Homeland Security labeled the incident an “act of domestic terrorism,” a description that has further inflamed outrage, especially as no publicly released video shows the woman striking an agent at the time she was shot.

Video Shows Agent Firing As Vehicle Moves Away

Video footage circulating online shows ICE agents surrounding the woman’s SUV. In the clips, the vehicle appears to back up and then move forward as agents approach. An ICE agent is then seen firing into the vehicle as it drives past.

Eyewitnesses told reporters they watched an agent fire multiple shots, striking the woman in the face and head.

At no point in the available footage does the vehicle appear to make contact with an agent.

Mayor Calls ICE’s Actions “Bullst”

Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey did not mince words after reviewing video evidence.

He publicly rejected ICE’s justification for the shooting, calling it “bullst,” and demanded that federal immigration agents leave the city immediately.

Frey said ICE’s presence has brought chaos to Minneapolis neighborhoods and placed residents in danger.

Governor, Senator Say Death Was Avoidable

Minnesota Governor Tim Walz called the woman’s death “totally predictable” and “totally avoidable,” saying federal immigration raids in residential areas are a recipe for tragedy.

Walz activated the state’s emergency operations center and urged calm, while also signaling that Minnesota will not stay silent as federal agents operate within its borders.

Federal Agent’s Actions Under Investigation

The FBI and the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension are now investigating the ICE shooting. The Hennepin County Attorney’s Office has also demanded a transparent, independent review.

No charges have been announced at this time.

President Donald Trump commented on the shooting and blamed the victim, sharing a video that he claims shows Good hitting officers. However, footage from other angles appears to show that her vehicle did not make contact with the ICE agent.
