Police have charged 14-year-old TyQuan General Jr. with murder, and the Wake County District Attorney’s Office has filed paperwork to charge TyQuan as an adult.
The school was put on lockdown until the end of the school day as police investigated on campus.
Classes at Southeast Raleigh Magnet High School were canceled for Tuesday and Wednesday, according to school officials.
