A North Carolina woman, Tanyce Kionna Griffin Bell, is behind bars without bond after she allegedly shot and killed her husband, 39-year-old DeVaughan Leon Bell early Thursday morning during a domestic dispute in Elizabeth City.
Tanyce has been charged with second-degree murder.
According to the Elizabeth City Police Department, officers responded to Sentara Albemarle Medical Center on Thursday after reports of a gunshot victim. DeVaughan Bell later succumbed to his injuries at the hospital.
Domestic Dispute Leads to Tragic Incident
The details leading up to the shooting remain unclear, but authorities confirmed that the incident followed a domestic dispute between the couple. As of now, police are continuing their investigation to determine the full circumstances surrounding the shooting.
A Tragic Anniversary
Social media posts reveal that just last year in, Tanyce and DeVaughan Bell celebrated their anniversary. A Facebook post from September 26, 2023, shows DeVaughan wishing Tanyce a “Happy Anniversary.”
Bell Faces Charges and No Bond
Tanyce Bell is currently being held at the Albemarle District Jail without bond. Her first court appearance is scheduled for Monday, December 30.
