Law enforcement in the Big Apple (New York) has nabbed a 16-year-old troublemaker they claim brutally assaulted a 68-year-old lady on the sacred steps of the church she was visiting.
The heist went down outside St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church in Jamaica Hills just this past Sunday. As per ABCNY7, the teen was busted on Thursday and hit with a laundry list of charges including robbery, assault, grand larceny, and having stolen goods in his possession.
68-year-old victim was heading to church service before attack
As per the report, a 68-year-old woman named Irene, a mother of two, was on her way to attend a service at St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church when a 16-year-old suddenly appeared, striking her in the face.
The footage captures the teenager snatching Irene’s purse, rummaging through her pockets, and then making a swift getaway dressed in all black with a hoodie concealing his identity.
