Videos shows U.S. Park Police shoot teenage driver dead after one officer dragged and another in vehicle as suspect flee

A 17-year-old is dead after he was shot by U.S. Park Police in Washington, D.C., after reports that the vehicle he possessed was stolen.

On March 18, 2023, around 9:00 a.m. U.S. Park Police observed a stolen white SUV parked on the side of the road. According to police, they had previously run the tag on the vehicle, which was reported stolen. Police said 17-year-old Dalaneo Martin was asleep inside the car.

Body-camera footage shows officers opening the SUV door and grabbing Martin, but he was able to put the car in drive and drove off, dragging one officer while another was inside the car with Martin as he fled.

As Martin flees, the officer in the vehicle tells Martin to stop the car. Martin keeps driving, and the officer then shoots Martin 5 times, killing him. The car crashes into a brick house.
