A quiet Cary, North Carolina neighborhood was rocked by tragedy on Monday afternoon as a mother, her teenage son, and his girlfriend were found dead inside their home.
The Cary Police Department reported the victims as 54-year-old Erica Alsye Holton, her son Xavier Neil Holton, 19, and Xavier’s girlfriend, 19-year-old Aminah Michelle Guy. All three were found with fatal gunshot wounds inside a residence on Smokemont Drive.
Details of the Shooting
Police were called to the Linville Ridge neighborhood at around 3 p.m. and remained on the scene for several hours, conducting a thorough investigation. By late Monday night, authorities confirmed the victims’ identities.
The Cary Police Department has stated there is no ongoing threat to the community. However, the case remains under investigation as detectives work to uncover the circumstances surrounding the incident.
Search for Clues
During their investigation, police were seen searching four vehicles near the scene — two in the driveway, one in the garage, and another parked on the street. Authorities have not disclosed whether any evidence was recovered from the vehicles.
The Office of the Medical Examiner is now handling the case, and autopsies have been scheduled to provide further insight into the deaths.
