A video obtained by The North Carolina Beat, depicts a member of a SWAT team from a Florida sheriff’s department pointing an assault rifle at a woman and her 16-year-old son while she filmed them preparing to raid her neighbor’s residence.
Roberta Singleton told The North Carolina Beat that it was “the scariest thing” of her life when a member of the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team aimed their gun at her and her 16-year-old son, as if they were going to shoot them through her kitchen window.

On Monday, around 4:30 p.m., Singleton told The North Carolina Beat that she was in her kitchen washing dishes when she heard what she thought was “loud music” outside. She said she stepped outside and learned that it was the Osceola County Sheriff’s Department SWAT team on the intercom, speaking to someone at her neighbor’s house on Smith Street in Kissimmee.
Singleton said that one of the SWAT members was standing in her yard with a dog when he yelled at her and told her to get back inside. After she went back inside her home, she said she retrieved her phone and began recording the SWAT team from her kitchen window. Her son joined her to observe.
Singleton said she overheard one of the SWAT members informing another team member about her observation from the kitchen window, just moments before one of them pointed their firearm at her.
After Singleton quickly got out of the way, what appeared to be a loud bang could be heard and the flashes could be seen. Singleton said she thought the SWAT team had shot at her but later learned it was possibly a flash bang thrown at her home.
He aimed the gun right at me and i thought they shot at me, Singleton said. I believe it was flash bang. I just can’t believe they pointed their gun at me and all i was doing was recording them.
