Brunswick County Deputies Arrest Supply man, 54-Year-Old Robert Christopher Smith on 15 Child Sex Crime Charges Involving a One-Year-Old.
According to arrest warrants, 54-year-old Robert Christopher Smith, of Supply, was taken into custody on Tuesday, October 7, by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.
Authorities say Smith is facing five counts of statutory sex offense with a child and ten counts of indecent liberties with a child.
Court documents allege the disturbing crimes happened between May 1, 2020, and 2024 — a span investigators believe involved repeated abuse.
Smith was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center.
He’s expected to make his first court appearance at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, October 8.
As of Tuesday afternoon, officials have not released further details about how Smith came under investigation or the relationship between him and the victim.
This case remains under active investigation by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office and the District Attorney’s Office.
