Security guard killed at the ‘BIG YBA’ concert at Legacy Lounge in Ayden N.C

A security guard from Kinston, aged 64, was fatally shot at a club in Ayden, North Carolina, during the early hours of Sunday morning, as reported by law enforcement authorities.

At approximately 2:01 a.m. on Sunday, the Ayden police responded promptly to a shooting incident at Legacy Lounge located on Highway 11.

Upon arrival, officers found 64-year-old Guy Lamont Brown from Kinston, North Carolina. Brown was transported to ECU Health Medical Center, where he succumbed to his injuries.

Police said they arrested 31-year-old Eric Midgette, also from Kinston, at the scene and charged him with an open count of murder.

Brown, who recently turned 64 on Saturday, July 12, was a security guard for Chase Staffing Solutions. His boss posted condolences on social media.

According to Legacy Lounge’s Instagram, they were hosting Durham artist “Big YBA” the night of the shooting.

The lounge has not released a statement regarding the shooting.

Police have not released any further information but asked anyone with information to call Ayden Police’s Investigation Division at 252-481-5844 or Crime Stoppers at 252-758-7777.
