ROCKINGHAM COUNTY, N.C. –The Rockingham County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a tragic overnight incident in Stoneville after a local man was found dead in his backyard.

Deputies say they were called to a home on Brushy Mountain Road around 12:11 a.m. Saturday for a report of a death. When first responders arrived, they located 47-year-old Kenneth Dalton with severe burn injuries.
