A Robeson County paramedic is under investigation after a photo surfaced on social media showing her giving a double middle finger to a patient’s mother during a mental health emergency.

Cierra Oxendine, who has served with Robeson County EMS for two years, has been placed on administrative leave following the incident, which took place last Tuesday in the Red Springs community.
Lorrie Ann Colville Mahar, the adoptive mother of the 17-year-old patient, alleges that Oxendine made the obscene gesture during a mental health crisis involving her son. According to Mahar, the confrontation escalated after she began asking the paramedic questions.

She later captured Oxendine’s actions with her cell phone and posted the photo on her social media page.
Robeson County EMS Director Patrick Cummings confirmed that Oxendine has been placed on leave but declined to share further details, citing an ongoing investigation.
