A road rage shooting on Highway 90 turned deadly in Horry County after a crash escalated into gunfire, leaving one man dead and another charged with murder as witnesses speak out.
HORRY COUNTY, S.C.– A road rage shooting on Highway 90 turned deadly Tuesday after a crash escalated into gunfire in Horry County, leaving one man dead and another charged with murder. Police say the incident began when a distracted driver struck multiple vehicles near Long Bay Road in the Longs area before a confrontation ended with fatal shots being fired.
A witness and crash victim later took to Facebook, sharing videos and a detailed account of what she says unfolded moments before 23-year-old Elijaih Thurman Taylor allegedly shot and killed 33-year-old Paul Jones Greenwood of Nichols.

The witness, who goes by the name “Khadijah Sha’da” on Facebook, said she was directly involved in the crash but insists she did not cause it or escalate the confrontation.
“Taylor was the first vehicle, I was the second vehicle & Paul was the one who wasn’t paying attention,” Khadijah wrote in her post. “Which resulted in him hitting my vehicle & the guy Taylor vehicle. Paul then over-corrected his white pickup & ended in the ditch.”
According to the post and videos shared online, Greenwood allegedly attempted to run and take cover after Taylor pulled out a gun and aimed it at him. Greenwood was shot and killed.

Booking records show Taylor has been charged with murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.
Greenwood’s girlfriend spoke to reporters on Wednesday, describing him as a devoted father figure to her two children, as well as a loving father to his own three kids.
She said Greenwood was a proud “girl dad” who loved having his nails painted and doing makeup with his daughters.
She added that she is still trying to process the tragedy and spoke emotionally about Greenwood’s efforts to change his life.
“It hurts, though, because old Paul — when he was the old Paul — would have hauled a*s,” she said. “But the changed one stayed to accept accountability, and if he was the old, I’d still have him. And that’s really sad,” Johnson said.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
