Dr. Todd Hall, a well-known and influential figure in the Christian ministry world, is facing backlash after a video surfaced showing him reportedly relaying messages from a dead girl to her grieving mother during a church service.
The video has caused heated debates among religious leaders and online communities and has raised serious questions about Hall’s ministry.
The video, posted by Bishop Demetrius Senegal on his TikTok account (@bishopsinegal), shows Dr. Hall—a prominent preacher, theologian, and motivational speaker known for his dynamic ministry and teachings on praise and worship—allegedly communicating with the deceased.
In the clip, Prophet Hall is seen telling a woman who just lost her daughter that “she’s okay where she is” and to “live the rest of her life like it’s the last days of her life.” His words have been described by critics as a form of necromancy—communication with the dead—an act some argue crosses the line between prophetic ministry and divination.

Bishop Senegal, who posted the video, was quick to condemn Hall’s actions, writing in the caption, “GOD’S PROPHETS DO NOT COMMUNICATE WITH THE DEAD!”
He further questioned whether Hall’s actions could be considered “prophetic necromancy,” adding, “Certainly a case of prophetic malpractice!”
For those unfamiliar with Dr. Hall, he is a well-respected figure in Christian circles, known for founding The Shabach Church in Apopka, Florida, and serving as Chief Apostle and Prelate of The Shabach Christian Church Fellowship, a network of churches across the United States. However, his controversial recent remarks have put a stain on his name.
In the video, Prophet Hall begins by telling the woman that “there’s a voice” speaking to him, though he never specifies whether it is the voice of God or something else.

On Sunday, Prophet Hall took to the pulpit to address the controversy directly. In a passionate defense, he stated, “I wanna make one thing plain, only one today…I do not talk to the dead.”
“I wanna make one thing plain, only one today,” Hall said. “Your pastor, yours truly, Todd Hall, who you are sitting under his ministry right now, I do not talk to the dead.”
Hall went on to explain that if he had the ability to speak with the deceased, he would ask for guidance from his own late family members, including his mother and grandmother.
“I DO TALK TO GOD WHO SPEAKS TO ME ABOUT THE LIVING AND THE DEAD,” Hall asserted, attempting to clarify that his prophetic communication was with God, not with spirits of the deceased.

He also took aim at bloggers who had criticized him about the video.
