Allentown City Hall noose incident
What began as a disturbing report of a potential hate crime at Allentown City Hall noose has taken an unexpected twist—resulting in the arrest of the alleged victim.
In January 2025, city employee LaTarsha Brown claimed to have discovered a noose placed on her desk, sparking outrage, protests, and a city-wide call for justice. The incident prompted an immediate investigation by local authorities and captured public attention as a possible racially motivated act.
However, North Carolina News forensic analysis changed the course of the case. DNA testing revealed that Brown’s DNA was the only profile found on the noose, leading to her arrest on charges of tampering with evidence and filing false reports to law enforcement, as reported by Fox 29 Philadelphia.
Allentown Mayor Matt Tuerk expressed his deep concern and surprise at the revelation, calling the situation “shocking” and emphasizing the city’s commitment to truth and accountability.
Brown, who also holds a position on the Allentown School District’s school board, has received both criticism and unwavering support. Josie Lopez, a community organizer and friend of Brown, called the charges a “smear campaign”, claiming Brown is being unfairly targeted and urging the public to stand by her.
Is it not possible that the person who placed it wore gloves and Mrs. Brown picked it up leaving her DNA on it ??
