Pastor Sheldon Williams Sr Accused of Yelling at Daughter During Family Dispute And Physically Abusing Her

HOUSTON, T.X.– A Houston pastor is going viral — not for a sermon, but for a deeply personal family dispute that has spilled onto social media.

Niya Williams shocked her Facebook timeline after posting a disturbing video of what appears to be her father, Pastor Sheldon Williams Sr., beating her and admitting that he beat women. After the video, Niya posted a lengthy and emotional statement that she says stemmed from unresolved family tension and issues involving his wife.

Pastor Sheldon Williams Sr is trending after his daughter publicly accused him of verbal mistreatment during a private family dispute tied to long-standing church drama.

According to Niya, the confrontation happened after she relocated to Texas in an effort to start fresh with her two-year-old son and rebuild a fractured relationship with her father — a relationship she says had been strained for nearly nineteen years. She claims the move was encouraged by her father, who wanted her close and believed the change would help heal old wounds.

Niya Williams went viral after sharing an emotional account of a heated argument with her father, detailing years of strained family tension and alleged verbal abuse.

Instead, Niya says the situation quickly got out of control.

In her post, she describes sitting on the floor for nearly forty minutes while being yelled at over how she referred to her father’s wife during a phone conversation with her grandmother. Niya maintains she was not disrespectful and says she calmly greeted everyone in the home, went to work, and later took a shower before being pulled into another extended conversation that turned confrontational.

She says that when she did not react emotionally, the tone shifted. According to Niya, her father then accused her of wanting to return to Mississippi “to be a h*e,” a statement she says crossed the line and caused her to lose all remaining respect for him.

Niya strongly pushed back against that claim, stating she had her own income, her own belongings, and was fully supporting herself and her child. She emphasized that she did not move to Texas seeking handouts and only relocated because she believed her father genuinely wanted to repair their relationship.

The post did not stop there. Niya also addressed her father’s wife directly, making it clear she had no expectations from her and suggesting she had settled for the bare minimum. Despite the tension, Niya says she still extended respect, especially given the complexities of blended family dynamics.

Screenshots also show a text exchanges between Niya and her father’s wife, Jasmine Williams, whom Niya refers to as “Jazz.”

One message shows Jasmine questioning why her contact name appeared as “daddy’s wife” on Niya’s iPad instead of “mama j.” Another message reveals Jasmine expressing that being called “Jazz” felt disrespectful, asking instead to be addressed as “Mrs. Jass” or “Mama J.”

What Niya describes as a minor misunderstanding over names allegedly escalated into hours of verbal confrontation, followed by the physical altercation seen in the video.

Toward the end of her message, Niya revealed that her father and his wife were later taken to the hospital. She did not explain the reason for the visit, but reassured supporters that she and her son are safe and doing well. She thanked those who reached out, explaining that she was not in the right mental space to respond immediately.

Pastor Sheldon Williams Sr. has not issued a public statement addressing the allegations.
