Suspect has been taken into custody following Sunday afternoon Onslow County shooting in Richlands
ONSLOW COUNTY, N.C. — Two people were shot Sunday afternoon during a shooting in Onslow County, authorities confirmed, and a suspect is now in custody.
According to the Onslow County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to reports of gunfire in the area of Luther Banks Road and Gregory Fork Road in Richlands. Multiple law enforcement agencies assisted in the response, including the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, and the Duplin County Sheriff’s Office.
Officials said the two victims were shot and were transported to Greenville for medical treatment. Their conditions have not been released.
During the investigation, deputies searched for a black Cadillac Escalade with dealer tags believed to be connected to the shooting. Authorities later confirmed that the suspect was taken into custody.
