Ohio Man Drives to North Carolina Over “Black Magic” Claims, Leaves with a Bruised Face

An unusual confrontation involving Brandon William Liedtke, an Ohio-based YouTuber, happened in Shelby, North Carolina, last month during the holidays after Liedtke drove 8 hours to confront a family over alleged “black magic.” 

YouTuber’s “Black Magic” Allegations Turn Violent

Brandon Liedtke, who runs a YouTube channel called ‘ProfoundEffectTarot’ with nearly 30,000 followers, claimed a 16-year-old girl was casting black magic on him. Liedtke livestreamed the entire encounter, which quickly escalated into an on-camera altercation – but later removed the video that showed his beatdown.

As he approached the family’s home, he said:

“This is what happens when you do that. I’m here to let them know I don’t play that sh*t. You can’t use black magic on me. You can’t harass me on social media. That’s not the way we’re gonna do this.”

The Heated Confrontation

After setting up his camera, Liedtke knocked on the door and was met by the girl’s uncle. According to the video, Liedtke urged the man to stop his niece from “using black magic.”

The man, confused by the accusations, responded:

“The f**k you talking about? My niece is too young for that sh*t!”

After a brief exchange, the man returned with a firearm, explaining it was for protection. Despite attempts to de-escalate the situation, Liedtke escalated the confrontation by striking the man, leading to a physical fight that moved off-camera, when he told the man:

“I’m sorry. I came a long way, but I have to do this,” Liedtke said before appearing to strike the man, with the two moving off-screen shortly thereafter.

As the fight turned up, two family members came out of the house to intervene. Liedtke continued accusing the them of using black magic, as an older man of the home, could be seen putting that pressure on Brandon.

Police and Charges

According to the Shelby Star, Liedtke fled the property but was later found trespassing in an empty building. Police reports revealed Liedtke claimed he was motivated by a woman named “Trevonne,” whom he believed was linked to the alleged black magic.

Authorities determined that Liedtke had no valid reason to confront the family and used “black magic” as an excuse for the attack.

Liedtke now faces multiple charges, including:

• Simple Assault
• First-Degree Trespassing
• Misdemeanor Conspiracy
• Resisting a Public Officer

He was booked at the Cleveland County Detention Center and released on a $15,000 bond.
