NYPD looking for man who broke into woman’s apartment with “sexual motivation”
Authorities in New York are searching for a man who allegedly carried out a “sexually motivated” home invasion of an apartment in the East Village. The incident occurred while the female resident was asleep in her bed.
The NYPD said the man crept into bed with the woman while she was sleeping.
“The New York City Police Department is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the whereabouts of the depicted individual in connection with a sexually motivated burglary,” stated the NYPD in a press release.
East Village Apartments burglar sought by NYPD
According to the police, the incident happened on Wednesday, December 6, around 2:30 a.m., when the unidentified suspect entered the woman’s apartment.
After the suspect entered the home, the police reported that the burglar attempted to lie in the bed next to the 23-year-old victim. Police said the man woke up the woman, which caused him to flee from the location.

Police said no injuries were reported, and the man is described as a male with a dark complexion, standing at 5’9″ tall and weighing 170 lbs. He was wearing a blue hat, glasses, a black hooded sweatshirt, a black and white jacket, beige sweatpants, and light-colored shoes.
