A murder-suicide in a quiet North Carolina neighborhood has shaken the community after a man allegedly shot and killed his wife, posting a disturbing confession on Facebook before taking his own life.

George Lesniak, 63, was involved in a tragic Fuquay-Varina murder-suicide, fatally shooting his wife, Cathleen Lesniak, after alleging infidelity, then taking his own life in their North Carolina home.

On January 18, 2025, 63-year-old George Lesniak posted a shocking message in the Facebook group “ADAS Support,” claiming his wife, 59-year-old Cathleen Lesniak, had admitted to cheating on him. The post, which was lated deleted, read:

“My wife admitted to cheating on me so I killed her. I’m about to kill myself. Figure this group out for your selves.”

According to group members, the post went live around 6:00 p.m. Within minutes, at approximately 6:03 p.m., Fuquay-Varina Police officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Highwater Place in response to reports of a shooting.

Users in the “ADAS Support” Facebook group were the first to see George Lesniak’s shocking post confessing to killing his wife, Cathleen, after alleged infidelity, before he took his own life in Fuquay-Varina.

Upon arrival, officers discovered Cathleen Lesniak deceased from a gunshot wound. George Lesniak was also found at the scene, dead from what authorities confirmed was a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Cathleen Lesniak, 59, tragically lost her life in a Fuquay-Varina murder-suicide after being fatally shot by her husband, George Lesniak, who claimed infidelity in a now-deleted social media post.

The Fuquay-Varina Police Department has assured the public that there is no ongoing threat. However, investigators are still piecing together the events leading to the tragedy. While the case appears to be a murder-suicide, officials have not yet made a formal ruling.
