Police have apprehended an accused murderer, 24-year-old Delexas Tykeem Williams, in Philadelphia in connection with the fatal shooting of Joshua Angelo Chandler, 24, a member of the LGBTQ+ community. Williams, was arrested on Wednesday and faces an open count of murder for the December 10, 2024, killing.
Authorities also confirmed that a second suspect, 27-year-old Kayla Nicole Armstrong, also of Wilson, surrendered to police on Monday. Armstrong is charged with acting as an accessory after the fact in connection with the case.
The investigation began on December 10, 2024, when Wilson police responded to a report of shots fired on the 1000 block of Tarboro Street around 2:44 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered Chandler under a carport, suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, he was pronounced dead at the scene by Wilson County EMS.
Both Williams and Armstrong are currently being held without bond.
Officials have not yet disclosed what led up to the shooting at this time.
