Shelton was last seen leaving her apartment on foot at Nottingham Apartments, located in the 4000 block of United Street. Her sudden disappearance left family and friends in shock, as they searched for answers in the months leading up to the discovery of her body.

Her cousin described her as a kind-hearted person who was always looking out for others.
“She is a good person and was always trying to help people. This isn’t like her,” they shared.
Authorities responded to the scene near Ashland Drive and Tryon Street around 2:47 p.m. on March 5. Detectives and crime scene investigators were called in to assess the situation. While an initial autopsy has confirmed suicide, the Greensboro Police Department is awaiting a full report from the Medical Examiner’s Office for further details.
