Daniel Green, the man who received a life sentence for the 1993 murder of James Jordan, the father of basketball legend Michael Jordan, may soon find himself stepping out of prison. The judge who oversaw Green’s trial, Judge Gregory Weeks, has urged the North Carolina parole board to consider his release.
According to an ABC News report, Judge Weeks revealed that for nearly three decades, crucial information was kept from the courts about Green’s case and it has haunted him. A forensic blood analyst failed to inform them that multiple tests conducted on evidence from the crime scene returned negative or inconclusive results for blood. That revelation casts doubt on the prosecution‘s claim that Green’s blood was found in the vehicle, suggesting it may not have belonged to him at all.
