Facebook Live rant

Convicted Killer’s Mother Spirals Into Racist, Disrespectful Facebook Tirade After Son Sentenced

Marcy Irene appears in a Facebook Live after her son Issiah Ross was sentenced in the Lyric Woods and Devin Clark murder case

Marcy Irene erupted on Facebook Live after her son was sentenced, launching a racist, disrespectful tirade that targeted the family of slain 14-year-old Lyric Woods.

The mother of a 21-year-old man who tried — and failed — to sell a self-defense story to a jury appeared to completely unravel on Facebook just hours after her son was sentenced in Orange County, North Carolina, to 20–25 years in prison for murder.

Instead of showing even a sliver of humility, accountability, or respect for the lives lost, the woman did the exact opposite — hopping on Facebook Live to gloat, scream, and attack grieving families in what can only be described as a disturbing public meltdown.

Her son, Issiah Ross, was convicted Thursday of second-degree murder in the death of 18-year-old Devin Clark. Ross was also charged in the killing of 14-year-old Lyric Woods, but after at least two days of jury deliberations on the charge for Lyric, jurors deadlocked and the judge declared a mistrial. Prosecutors are allowed to retry Ross on Woods’ case.

But if you listened to Ross’s mother — who goes by Marcy Irene on Facebook — you’d think her son just walked free.

“What, you mad? You mad that we won? We really won. Y’all think y’all won,” Marcy said the Facebook Live video.

In one clip captured, Marcy was inside a Food Lion when she escalated her rant into a racist, profanity-filled tirade that targeted Lyric Woods’ family directly.

“You mad that we won for real — that it didn’t take your white skin, your money, your power, or your title to win?” Marcy said.

“You mad that Black people actually got the verdict they wanted? You mad? You mad? White motherfuckers, f**k you. You mad? Because Black people actually got to stand on the stand and read their notes — and you didn’t.”

She then doubled down, making it clear her anger wasn’t about justice — it was about race.

“You thought you were going to win because of your skin color, because of your title, but you know what? The Black people actually won.”

Marcy went on to accuse Lyric Woods’ parents of trying to allegedly stop Devin Clark’s mother “from the finding of her son’s body.” She then mocked the courtroom proceedings, laughing loudly while pointing out that Clark’s family was allowed to read victim impact statements while Woods’ family was not.

“They were the ones who got to stand up and read their notes — not y’all white motherfuckers,” she said.

“I’m glad the Black people won.”

As if that wasn’t reckless enough, another part in her video, Marcy continued her rant while singing a made-up song celebrating the verdict.

“Justice was really served,” she sang.
“Justice was really served for Lyric. Justice was really served for Lyric.”

She then minimized the deaths entirely, choosing instead to brag about when she believes her son will be free again.

“My son will be out by the time he’s 31… 32. He’ll be out by the time he’s 32,” Marcy said.
“That’s okay. I’ll take that. I’ll take that all day.”

She continued:

“You that’s laughing — I could say some shit that would really hurt your spirit, but I’m not going to do that. I’m not going to do that because I’m not that evil. I’m evil, but I’m not that evil. All I’m going to say is my son will be out by the time he’s 31… 32. Can you say that?”
