Man dies in Charlotte after pleading for help on Facebook live after construction site caught fire and he was trapped

Dayum, this is sad.

30-year-old Demonte Sherill is dead after he made a video begging for help in an apartment complex construction fire on Liberty Row Drive, in Charlotte, North Carolina, on May 18.

According to officials, a foam spraying machine caught fire, then spread throughout the construction site, trapping Sherill and another man who also died.

Keith Suggs, Prestige Windows and Doors manager based out of Atlanta said that Sherill and a second man killed worked for him. It was Sherill’s third day at the worksite. Suggs said the men were working to install doors.

Sherill and the other victim were trapped on the sixth floor as the smoke became thick.

Firefighters rescued 15 workers from the building, including one man on a crane.

The last moments of Sherill’s life, he filmed on Facebook Live begging for help.
