Liam King Body Found in Asheboro NC After Multi-Day Search Ends in Tragedy
Heartbreaking news has ended the desperate search for 7-year-old Liam Alexander King, whose disappearance gripped the Asheboro community and beyond in North Carolina. On Tuesday, September 9, 2025, authorities confirmed they recovered Liam’s body from a pond close to where he was last seen.

Liam was first reported missing on Sunday, September 7, from the Forest Hills Drive area in Asheboro. He was last seen wearing:

Authorities quickly issued alerts, emphasizing Liam’s non-verbal condition and cognitive impairments, noting he may run if approached and had a known fascination with water.

Local, state, and federal agencies mobilized helicopters, drones, K-9s, dive teams, and ground crews. Search teams combed through wooded areas, backyards, and most critically—bodies of water near the home.
On Tuesday morning around 11 a.m., divers discovered Liam’s lifeless body in a pond within proximity to where he went missing.
