Bear Mace Sprayed At Ken Cooks in Charlotte, Employee Put Out

Friday, Ken Cooks in Charlotte, the popular soul food spot on Old Little Rock Road, turned into a real-life episode of Bad Girls Club—with bear mace, screaming customers, and the owner, Ken, going OFF.

“GET OUT OF MY F*IN’ RESTAURANT!” – KEN COOKS WASN’T HAVING IT

A video posted on Facebook by user Rio Rozay captured the wild moment from inside the restaurant. It’s unclear what sparked the mess, but Ken clearly wasn’t with the shenanigans. The footage shows tension building as Ken confronts a man recording the chaos, reportedly one of her employees.

“You making people leave my restaurant,” Ken says, pointing the blame at the cameraman.

Seconds later, all hell breaks loose. You hear screams, someone yelling “HELP ME!”, and customers holding their faces after allegedly being hit with bear mace. 

“Get out of my fing restaurant!” Ken Cooks repeats at least seven times, before adding:
“Get yo b* a** outta here!”

The man tries to ask for his paycheck, but Ken—holding a jug of milk for the mace—was NOT in the mood.

In the caption, Rio Rozay said:

“CHARLOTTE RESTAURANT OWNER KEN COOKS BEAR MACE THE WRONG PERSON & CLEARS OUT HER WHOLE RESTAURANT – ‘HELP MEEEEEEEE’ – CHICKEN WINGS & BEAR MACE ON THE MENU.”

KEN COOKS EXPLAINS: “HE BEEN STEALING FROM US!”

Later after the incident, Ken hit Facebook Live to clear the air and apologize. She apologized to customers who were eating peacefully when everything popped off but also let it be known—the man in the video was someone she considered her godson.

“He been stealing from us,” she said. “It was a mess today y’all, and I just wanna apologize to everybody. But if I ask you to leave and you put on a show—THE REAL ME GON’ COME OUT.”

She claimed the man stole from the restaurant.

“You out here calling me mean, the devil… while I’m out here trying to HELP you and you steady stealing?”

Despite it all, Ken said she tried to forgive him multiple times for allegedly stealing—but this time? “It was up.”
