According to PEOPLE, the Real Housewives of Atlanta star was blindsided after discovering that her now-estranged husband had been talking to other women behind her back long before their public split.
Sources close to the situation told the outlet that Kandi believed her marriage was solid, but behind the scenes, Todd was allegedly moving foul.
“She had no idea,” one source revealed, adding that Kandi was deeply hurt when she found out what was really going on.
The couple, who were married for 11 years, share two children—son Ace, 9, and daughter Blaze, 6. Despite everything, they’ve continued to appear together at times for the sake of their kids, even spending Thanksgiving under the same roof after Todd officially responded to Kandi’s divorce filing.
But the courtroom drama is heating up.
In court documents filed on Nov. 26, Todd requested primary custody of their children and questioned the validity of the prenup he signed before their wedding. His legal team claims he was pressured into signing the agreement right before the ceremony without proper legal representation—despite negotiations allegedly already being in progress.
If the prenup is ruled invalid, Todd is seeking joint legal custody, primary physical custody, and could potentially pursue spousal support.
Meanwhile, Kandi previously hinted at the emotional toll of the breakup during an Amazon Live, telling fans, “Y’all see me smiling online, but I’ve been going through it. Life has been life-ing me.”
