The North Carolina Beat has learned that Joy Rogers, 64, has been confirmed by her husband and family as one of the three victims killed in the September 27, 2025 mass shooting at the popular American Fish Company waterfront bar in Southport, North Carolina.

A NIGHT OF TERROR ON THE WATER

Just after 9:30 p.m. on a peaceful Saturday night, live music filled the air as patrons gathered at the American Fish Company. But that peace was shattered when a gunman, 40-year-old Nigel Max Edge, positioned on a boat in the Intracoastal Waterway, opened fire on the crowd before fleeing by water.

The calculated ambush shook the community to its core. Witnesses described panic, confusion, and chaos as people scrambled for cover.

Three people were killed, including Joy Rogers and at least five others were injured.

Officials say the shooting was highly premeditated

WHO WAS JOY ROGERS?
