Former U.S. President Joe Biden, 82, has been diagnosed with an aggressive and advanced form of prostate cancer — one that doctors confirm has already spread to his bones.

The diagnosis was confirmed Sunday, May 18, 2025, following weeks of speculation about Biden’s health. According to his personal office, Biden began experiencing worsening urinary symptoms, which led doctors to discover a prostate nodule. A biopsy revealed a Gleason score of 9 (Grade Group 5) — the highest score, indicating a highly aggressive and fast-moving cancer.

 Not Biden’s First Health Battle

This is not the first time Biden’s health has made headlines. During his presidency, he had a basal cell carcinoma removed in 2023, and a pre-cancerous colon polyp in 2021.

In a heartfelt message shared on social media Monday, Biden expressed gratitude for the public’s support, stating, “Cancer touches us all. Like so many of you, Jill and I have learned that we are strongest in the broken places. Thank you for lifting us up with love and support.”
