Karell Tyshawn Harrington Charged With Second-Degree Murder

Guilford County authorities have locked up Karell Tyshawn Harrington, 21, of High Point, on a second-degree murder charge linked to the July 2, 2025 shooting death of a 15-year-old Promise Quick in McLeansville.

According to deputies, Harrington was arrested Monday, July 21, 2025, and booked into the Guilford County Detention Center, where he’s being held without bond.

Karell Tyshawn Harrington, 21, of High Point, is accused of second-degree murder in the July 2 shooting death of a 15-year-old Promise Quick.

What Went Down on Hooper Road

At approximately 4:30 a.m. on July 2, deputies responded to 5014 Hooper Road after receiving reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they discovered the teen victim had been fatally shot.

According to investigators, the 15-year-old had been dog-sitting at the residence and had invited a few friends over. Those friends later invited additional people to the home, including Harrington, according to MyFox8.

Prosecutors stated that everyone at the gathering knew each other and that, at some point, they began playing around and joking while handling firearms.

Sheriff Danny H. Rogers called the shooting an “isolated incident” and sent condolences to the victim’s family. He’s urging anyone with info to step up and call investigators as the case remains active.
