A Hendersonville woman is behind bars with no bond accused of stabbing and killing her 5-year-old daughter.
50-year-old Penny Short Hartle of Hendersonville is charged with second-degree murder.
Around 8:45 a.m. Sunday, deputies responded to Fiesta Lane for a stabbing call.

Upon arrival, deputies determined that the 5-year-old had died from her injuries.
A preliminary investigation revealed that the child’s Mother, Hartle, was the suspect.
Hartle has a first court appearance Monday.
The incident is still under investigation.
