Haywood County Officials Respond To Viral Video
Haywood County, N.C. officials are speaking out after receiving threatening phone calls in response to a viral video of a Black truck driver who was attacked by several men at a local dump site known as TBD Landfill in Clyde, North Carolina.
In a statement released Monday, the county clarified that the location “TBD landfill” is privately owned and is not affiliated with Haywood County Government, Solid Waste Management, the Town of Clyde, or any of their contractors such as Consolidated Waste Services or Republic Services.
Despite not being involved, officials said their Solid Waste facilities, staff, and contractors have received threatening phone calls following the video’s circulation.
“We encourage the public to seek accurate information before responding to a situation,” they added.
Wright Brothers Construction Flip-Flops on Statement
Adding to the confusion, Wright Brothers Construction Company, Inc., initially claimed on Facebook page that the incident happened at one of their project sites. However, in a new statement released Sunday, the company is walking that back.
Now, Wright Brothers says the incident did not occur on one of their project sites. Instead, they confirmed that only one individual present during the incident was their employee and that he was onsite acting as a deputy sheriff.
The company said they are actively investigating the incident to determine what role, if any, their employee played.
What Happened in the Viral TikTok?
The video, originally posted to TikTok by a user identified as “BossedUpp Ent,” shows the driver recounting an alleged racially charged confrontation on June 28, 2025 at the dump site with two videos to support his story.

Haywood County NC issued a statement that this is a private landfill not owned by the county. Haywood County did NOT address how inappropriate the behavior of landfill employees was. The county also did not say if they contract work to this private landfill and if so what actions they will take against the landfill. Three out of four voters in Haywood county voted for Trump. Does this despicable racist behavior surprise anyone?
This is a prime example of the Western North Carolina mountains a lawless land just for white people. A bunch of inbreds with the blood and DNA running in their veins of the Confederacy. And because they got their heada so far stuck up their a*s. They still think it’s 1972 Deliverance in their’s Sun downtowns. I don’t any educated individual expects anything more from redneck hillbillies. What does continue to amaze me is that people of the same basic economic status, but different skin colors, continue to be at odds. That driver was there simply to do his job, and he was subjected to unnecessary harassment and grief. More than likely this wouldn’t have happened if he had been white. People like this fear immigrants and others coming into the country and becoming the majority. That fear is shown in the way that they are able to treat people and get away with it.
