Bigamy Charges

Taylorsville Man Busted for Marrying 3 Women—Without Divorcing a Single One

Harry Burdick Jr. is facing bigamy charges for allegedly marrying multiple women across North Carolina without filing for divorce.

Authorities say Harry Burdick married three women in three counties—without divorcing any of them—and may have done it all for financial gain.

Authorities say Harry Irvine Burdick Jr., a 60-year-old man from Taylorsville, took “for better or worse” way too far. According to the Davidson County Sheriff’s Office, Burdick was out here stacking wives like pancakes—marrying three different women across three different counties without divorcing a single one.

Police started looking into Burdick in April 2025, when someone tipped off the sheriff’s office about his suspicious marital history. Detectives went digging—and found three marriage licenses under his name, filed in Lincoln, Davidson, and Guilford counties.

It didn’t take long before investigators realized Burdick may have been living a triple life.

Bigamy Charges & Accusations of Financial Exploitation

On August 22, 2025, Harry Burdick was arrested and slapped with two counts of felony bigamy. Authorities say Burdick allegedly used each marriage possibly for financial gain.

Between 2021 and 2024, Burdick reportedly played a long con—building trust, then allegedly bleeding bank accounts dry before sliding into a new county and saying “I do” again.

Meanwhile, another potential victim has come forward, and the sheriff’s office believes more wives may be out there.

Though Burdick’s not behind bars—he was released on a written promise to appear—his first court date is set for September 22, 2025, at the Davidson County Courthouse.
