Rapper OMB Peezy van was struck by gunfire during a shooting outside Star Bar in Raleigh early Sunday morning, April 13. The incident occurred shortly before 4 a.m. after Peezy had finished a performance at the nightclub located on Trawick Road near New Bern Avenue.

According to RaleighPolice, over 20 gunshots were fired in the parking lot. Peezy’s tour van and three other vehicles were struck, but no injuries were reported. At this time, no arrests have been made, and police are continuing their investigation.
Witnesses Recall Chaos After the Show
Eyewitnesses described a terrifying scene as people ran for cover amid the sound of rapid gunfire. One woman said her vehicle was hit during the chaos, adding, “It felt like something out of a movie.”

Star Bar’s Troubled History
According to WRAL News, this is the 17th reported incident at Star Bar in the past year alone, with 93 service calls made to the venue during that time. The nightclub has a documented history of violence, including a temporary loss of its liquor license in 2020 after multiple shootings and stabbings. The license was reinstated in 2021 and last renewed in April 2024.
