Amarrii Faison Accused of Running Fake PS5 Scam

A Goldsboro teenager is now facing multiple felony charges after police say he set up fake PlayStation 5 “sales” to rob people who thought they were buying the game system.

Authorities say 18-year-old Amarrii Faison lured victims through social media and arranged in-person meetups in Goldsboro, where he would allegedly take their money and run off without delivering the console.

According to Goldsboro Police, the first reported incident happened on August 27, when a woman met Faison on Harris Street after agreeing to buy a PS5. Police say once she handed him the cash, Faison snatched the money and took off running.

Less than two weeks later, on September 6, another victim met with Faison at the same location. Officers say the teen repeated the same move—grabbing the cash and fleeing before handing over any merchandise.

A third robbery was reported on September 18 at a home on South Taylor Street. Police say Faison again took the money and ran.

Following an investigation, police obtained a search warrant for a home on Day Circle. Around 4 p.m. on October 6, officers executed the warrant and arrested Faison without incident.
