A large tree collapsed onto the Fort Branch Museum in Oak City, NC, causing severe structural damage. The museum’s historical artifacts have since been relocated.

The incident was revealed Monday by the Historical Fort Branch museum through a Facebook post – that post has now been deleted. According to museum officials, the announcement about the destruction was intentionally delayed until all valuable artifacts could be safely moved to a secure location to avoid potential theft.

“Initially, we delayed letting everyone know so that the artifacts could be moved and secured at a new location to avoid any theft,” the museum officials stated.

Although the museum was insured, officials say the coverage is insufficient due to the increased costs of construction today.

“We are devastated,” Historical Fort Branch said. “Please consider donating to help Fort Branch replace our museum and keep it available for future generations.”

Social media reactions were mixed, though many users expressed amusement rather than sympathy. One user humorously commented, “Is the tree okay?” echoing sentiments of others who viewed the incident as symbolic.

The Confederate Museum has drawn controversy over the years due to its association with Civil War memorabilia. Despite this, museum officials maintain the importance of preserving history, urging community support to rebuild.

  1. I can guarantee you that the museum will be re-built. As many monuments that were destroyed and moved have been replaced, this to will be. Many already have sent checks as have I.
Judging people of the past with 21st Century hindsight shows someone’s history IQ. By these standards, the Bible should be destroyed so people cant read about all those slave owners like King David.

  2. That is GREAT!! God has returned and so has Quetzalcoatl to deliver justice again to the enslavers of “men women and CHILDREN” “iNSTITUTIONAL SLAVERY”… The Ameriicas abomination should be WHJIPPED OUT from the surface soil and sky of planet earth… Just a free thought.. Of the sons and daughters of the creators, in the “ensowed by our Creators” ~ D.o.I. Amer’ica = AMOR VICTA: Love conquers allllllllll…. Plus they still cannot read either Old English, nor Barely English….. Only Barely Legal… jajajajaajajaj

  11. Glory to God in the highest! The winds of change are shaking the trees, bringing down altars to cruelty and human bondage. Hallelujah!

Thank the Most High! There is NO reason for us to celebrate our wicked past. The collapse of this building was truly a divine act.

  13. God did the world a favor and got rid of all of that hate why would anyone want to live with all that hate. Hate is your history and hell is you resting place. Wake up white people
