Edward Jeffrey Jones Jr., a recently elected official in Forsyth County has been arrested on multiple charges, including election fraud and violations related to the state’s sex offender registry.
Jones, 55, was elected as a Soil and Water Conservation District Supervisor in November 2024. His role, though unpaid, involves overseeing conservation efforts within the county. However, Jones has now been charged with election fraud for allegedly filing for candidacy in Forsyth County while residing in Davie County.
Jones is also charged with failure to disclose a felony conviction for allegedly not revealing his status as a convicted felon during his candidacy, as well as voting violations for casting a vote in Forsyth County elections despite residing in Davie County.
Jones was arrested on February 10, 2025, and is currently held in the Forsyth County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

In 2019, Jones was convicted in Forsyth County for failure to register as a sex offender, resulting in a sentence of two years and eight months. He was released in December 2021.
Jones is scheduled to appear in court on February 28, 2025, for the sex offender registry violation charges, and on March 3, 2025, for the election fraud charges.
