Wilson County officials have identified two of the four victims in a devastating wrong-way crash that occurred Thursday afternoon on U.S. Highway 301 near Mobley Road, just outside Lucama.
Authorities confirmed that Greta Lynette Pender-Ray, 53, and Brandi Jyasia Sherrod, 21, were driving the correct way when their lives were tragically cut short.
The collision, which happened around 4:49 p.m., involved two vehicles traveling in opposite directions. Investigators revealed that one car veered the wrong way, resulting in a fiery head-on impact. The crash caused one vehicle to overturn off the road, while the other was engulfed in flames, complicating the identification of its occupants.
Both individuals in the wrong-way vehicle remain unidentified due to the extent of the fire damage. Tragically, all four people involved in the collision lost their lives.
