Whewwww! Not another pastor making headlines for everything BUT the Word! A Kinston, North Carolina pastor is now behind bars—no bond, no blessings—after police say he sexually violated a woman and pointed a gun at her.

According to police, 41-year-old Elijah Rouse, the so-called shepherd of Destiny Impact Church Ministries, was arrested Tuesday night and charged with first-degree forcible rape and kidnapping after a violent and terrifying encounter with a woman on Monday, July 7, 2025.

The Allegations Ain’t Holy

Court documents say the “man of God” showed his true colors when he allegedly raped and sexually assaulted a woman, then escalated the nightmare by pointing a black firearm at her to keep her from leaving.

Locked Up, No Anointing Oil Allowed

Rouse is currently being held in Pitt County Jail with no bond, and church folks might want to start looking for a new leader who ain’t preaching with one hand and violating with the other.

It’s unclear whether Rouse will be able to keep his job as a supervisor with Kinston’s Parks & Recreation Department.
