Faith Pellini ECU arrest
East Carolina University (ECU) student Faith Pellini was arrested on campus on Thursday night, March 27, and is now facing charges of second-degree trespassing and resisting a public officer. According to court documents, North Carolina news Pellini allegedly refused to leave ECU property after being directed to do so by university police. She has since bonded out of the Pitt County Detention Center on a $2,500 bond.
The arrest follows a series of high-profile events involving Pellini that have drawn widespread attention on social media and across campus.

Earlier this week, Pellini posted a viral TikTok video where she alleged that ECU was preparing to expel her for punching and spitting a male student, Jamari Cobb, during an off-campus party. In the video, Pellini claimed that Cobb has been accused of multiple sexual assaults on ECU’s campus.

Following Pellini’s video, another ECU student, U’Neek Burch, came forward with her own allegation. Burch stated that she was assaulted by the same male student in October 2024 and reported the incident to university authorities. According to Burch, ECU issued a mutual no-contact directive but took no further action.
ECU Deputy Police Chief Chris Sutton confirmed Cobb has not been charged with any crimes. Sutton noted that while police have received reports from third parties, direct cooperation from the alleged victims has been limited, hindering further investigation.
Due to federal student privacy laws, ECU has not commented on specific disciplinary cases. However, a university spokesperson emphasized that all assault reports are taken seriously. When a report is received, ECU officials follow up with the alleged victim, offer counseling and support services, and inform them of their reporting and legal options. In cases reported by third parties, staff make efforts to reach out to the potential victim and proceed only if the individual chooses to participate.
